Historically, linguistic aspects of localization quality has been measured separately from software testing aspects: different teams, different metrics, different worlds. However, our global players care about the overall player experience, not its individual parts. It’s time to take a holistic view of quality if you want your titles to repeatedly succeed internationally with great ROI. We will explain how MQM-DQF, a unified internationalization/localization quality evaluation framework, can be leveraged to blend language quality measurements with software quality measurements. Next, we’ll explore how to enable an end-to-end, data-driven view of localization quality that could approximate player UX in a better way and unlock new possibilities to optimize cost of quality. Knowing that, we will discuss these questions: Have YOU tried combining linguistic quality scores with localization testing bug metrics in your own organization? If yes, how did you go about it, and what results did you get? If no, why didn’t you, and what challenges with process and technology did you face?
